Ever feel like you’re in 10 places at once? We get it. The world is full of distractions and responsibilities. With so many running to-do lists, mindfulness becomes a daunting task. It’s hard to focus on one thing when we’ve been so programmed to multitask.

The problem is that lack of focus results in work half done and life half lived. It’s no wonder mindfulness has become such a sought-after skill. But it doesn’t come easy!  It requires conscious commitment and practice. We’ve put together a list of 5 easy tricks to get you started

Practicing Presence with Mindfulness

If you’re feeling a little intimidated, let’s make one thing clear: mindfulness is simple! It doesn’t have to be all crossed legs and incense.  It can simply be the practice of focusing on the present moment, wholeheartedly.  If you’re breathing, feel into the subtleties of each breath.  If you are washing the dishes, bring awareness to the warmth of the water and the smell of the soap. You can literally practice mindfulness at any time throughout your day. That said, here are a few tricks to help turn mindfulness into a habit.

Start a morning routine

What do you do when you first wake up? Go straight to your phone to check emails, messages and social media? You would be surprised at the impact that 5 minutes of stillness in the morning can have on the rest of your day. Our tip? Start a morning routine that starts without your cell phone! Instead, use the time you would have spent scrolling to set a conscious intention for your day.

Add CBD to your daily regimen

CBD has been taking over the health and wellness scene. And for good reason! Working with the body to maintain balance and general well-being, many have found that CBD supports a sense of calm and peace of mind. So add it to your morning routine!

Pay attention to your breath

Breathing is a process that happens naturally all day long. Your breath feeds your brain and all the cells in your body. It sustains life. What many don’t realize is that when we get stressed and over-stimulated we often hold our breath. This is awful for your health! Bringing consciousness to your breathing can calm the mind and heal the body. It brings you back to the present. When you notice your thoughts wandering, practice bringing mindfulness back to your breath.

Take a yoga class

Yogis all over the world swear by their yoga practice as a way of merging mind and body in order to be fully in the moment. The simple act of paying attention to breath and movement forces the mind to be present and let go of stress and worry. Most yoga studios offer countless different yoga classes, varying in intensity and technique, with plenty of options for the beginner yogini. You can even try taking some CBD before class for an extra boost of relaxation! Give it a shot and see how you like it.

Check in with yourself

So many days go by without a single thought as to how we are feeling. When life gets busy and the to-do list gets long, self-care often gets pushed to the back burner so we can keep crossing things off our list. But the longer you go without showing up for your needs, the worse the fallout is later. Bringing mindfulness to how you are feeling allows you to properly take care of yourself. And when you are properly cared for, you can show up in the world as the best version of you!  So, how are you feeling? How is your health, your nutrition, your sleep? What do you need? Practice mindfully checking in with yourself.

Remember: Mindfulness doesn’t always come easy.

It often requires conscious commitment and daily practice. So be gentle with yourself and your process. And enjoy the journey!
